The “Sweetheart” Scam

Scammers target seniors because they assume you are lonely and have savings. Be smart.

Red Flags

1. Love Bombing: They say “I love you” within days. Real love takes time.
2. Overseas: They are always “working on an oil rig,” “deployed in the army,” or “stuck in customs.”
3. Money: They eventually ask for money. For a plane ticket, a visa, or a medical emergency.

The Rule

Never send money to someone you haven’t met in person. No exceptions. If they ask, block them.
